That Number Looks FunnyThe Line · models vs the market

Welcome to the argument. This is the board behind That Number Looks Funny, the FLSportsDesk podcast. A panel of models prices every game on the slate. The sportsbooks price them too. When the two numbers fight, this page is the ring, and the Ledger keeps the receipts.

• The panel. Every model posts its own number for every game: the line it swears is fair. No hiding, no quiet edits. The number goes up before kickoff and it stays up.
• The Gap. The daylight between our number and the market's. A point or two? Shrug. A fat gap? Now we have television.
• Flags. When the models gang up on one side and the market wants no part of it, the game gets flagged. Flags lock one hour before kickoff. No late flags, no convenient memory, no victory laps for games nobody called.
• The Ledger. Every flag graded against the closing line, wins and losses published either way. The number that runs this page is 52.4 percent: clear the breakeven or the market was right and we were just loud.
• The tabs. The Slate is today's fight card. The Ledger is the official record. Models is the standings. The Podcast tab is Mack and Christie arguing about all of it, out loud.
